Furoshiki is a square-shaped wrapping cloth that is eco-friendly and mostly used for wrapping gift or carrying goods. The word also refers to the method of wrapping. This is an easy and eco-conscious way to wraps gifts and avoid non-recyclable paper and tape. In Japan it is traditional for the furoshiki to be returned to the giver. But it can also be part of the gift.
My Trash Chic preloved and vintage scarves make perfect wrapping cloths. I always suggest to the recipient that they pass the scarf on when they are next giving a gift. But sometimes I notice that the scarves are being worn which is also lovely.
