Into the Woods photoshoot - introducing the Trash Chic models
After months in the planning, yesterday was the first professional Trash Chic fashion shoot. It was a baking hot day but my models were troopers as photographer Alina Natali and I led them through a churchyard, into the woods and down country paths.
I chose 6 outfits for each model and as this is not what they do for a living I wanted them to feel comfortable and at ease in the clothes. It was a joy, and a great relief, to discover that they loved everything I asked them to wear.
What a wonderful day it was. Exhausting but exhilarating. When Alina showed us the photos at the end of the day (700 or so) we were blown away. What magic she worked. Now we just have to wait for the final results.
In the meantime, I’d like to introduce you to my 3 gorgeous models.
EMILY SCARBROUGH
I’m lucky to have such a beautiful daughter-in-law. Emily hails from Knoxville, Tennessee and is the owner and founder of Simply Sensitive Soaps. Having sensitive skin herself and not being able to find soap that didn’t irritate, Emily set about making her own. Each bar is carefully formulated to address a specific skin concern, using premium organic ingredients. She is also a fantastic and inventive cook.

JUDY LOGAN
I met Judy when I purchased one of her artworks many years ago and we immediately became friends. We have a few things in common and one of those is a love of crows. In August this year a solo exhibition of her new work SOULS & CROWS opens at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery. Judy used to work at the Royal Academy of Arts in London but gave it up to focus on her own painting and printmaking. She is an incredibly talented artist and is married to the also incredibly talented singer songwriter Steve Logan.
MAGGIE K DE MONDE
Lovely exuberant Maggie is a singer songwriter. Back in the 80s I was a big fan of her bands SWANS WAY and SCARLET FANTASTIC. Imagine my excitement when I discovered a friend of mine knew Maggie and introduced me to her. Maggie is still making great music and released two new singles in 2021: BETTER DAY and MAKE WAY FOR LOVE. Maggie is of course a performer and a cheeky gal at heart, so she revelled in her modelling role.
